Floyd, VA - April 28, 2011 - If the true definition of 'Fandango' is a lively dance done in triple time, then Floyd Fandango, a weekend-long Independence Day celebration, is not too far off the mark. This unique event, which is held annually off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Floyd, Virginia, has garnered somewhat of a cult following since its 2004 inception. Unorthodox festivities are often the headline, including past performances by Junior Brown playing under an Italian carnival tent with snake charmers and a trained dog show, and other carnival-themed attractions. This year's attendees can expect an equally solid roster of non-traditional entertainment and merriments.

FLOYDFEST X ANNIVERSARY EDITION PROMISES TO BE EXCEPTIONAL

Floyd, VA - March 25th 2011 - 2011 marks the 10-year anniversary of an event that has become a model for the independent, grassroots, multi-genre family friendly outdoor music festival. And in the way of marketing imagery, this anniversary edition of FloydFest X –Across-the-Way, the eXperience- is aptly named. The “X”, according to spokespersons for the Floyd, Virginia, based Production Company, stands for all things ‘X’ usually represents (eXcept ‘ X-rated,’ although there is a little good old fashioned burlesque embedded in the theatre-based Yard Dogs Road Show performance).

It is eXponential, in that ticket sales for the festival, as of March 10th, are hovering at 100% over last year, trending to an early sell-out for an event that started in 2002 with 3000 people on a hurricane-soaked farm plateau off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway near Floyd, Virginia.

Virginia’s Largest Wine Offerings will take place on June 4-5, 2011 at Bull Run Regional Park Special Events Center in Centreville, VA

Floyd, VA - March 10 2011 -The Vintage Virginia Wine Festival began 30 years ago, as a gleam in the eye of its founding organization - the Virginia Wineries Association- at the time a new, loosely-knit group of oenophiles who took to heart Thomas Jefferson’s prophetic words that “We could, in the United States, make as great a variety of wines as are made in Europe- not exactly the same kinds, but doubtless as good.”

That was then, a time when six wineries were operating in Virginia, and visiting them all was fairly easy. The first annual Vintage Virginia wine festival took place in a small farm field off rt. 64, under just a few tents with a handful of wines being tasted out to a small crowd of eager participants...

FloydFest 9 Breaks Ground reaching capacity attendance on Saturday

FloydFest 9, Breaking Ground, lived up to its 2010 theme on July 22-25, 2010 with a record 14,000+ in attendance during the four days of beautiful, albeit hot, summer weather. Among the many memorable performances of over 100 bands were the likes of the Levon Helm Band (beneath the natural perfect light show of a full moon as a backdrop), Old Crow Medicine Show, Galactic w/ Corey Henry, Bassekou Koyate, with possibly the most inspiring set of music to ever grace the FloydFest venue, the lovely and soulful Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and Railroad Earth to name a few.
